City Services

Residents and Business owners who responded to the City's EDS survey expressed their overwhelming satisfaction with the City's street maintenance, snow removal, garbage removal, sewer and water services.  The City takes great pride in the appearance and up keep of the community.

Our  Fire Department protects the City and the surrounding rural area.  State of the art emergency rescue equipment and trained personnel respond promptly to emergencies.   The City maintains its own Police Department and share a Chief of police and some other policing functions with the neighboring community of Amboy.   Our professionally trained and certified officers, are backed up via radio communications and computer with other law enforcement and emergency agencies.

The City has a combination fire hall and community services building to house all of it's fire and city personnel functions.  This building serves as the cities polling place and is used by both the City and the surrounding Township.  It is also available for community events.
