Pony Express Photos!
This goofy looking bunch is who showed up to greet the Pony Express Rider!
From left, front row: Sara Rose, Vernon Center Council member, portraying a red headed version of Miss Kitty!
Karen Lachmiller, Vernon Center Post Master, well covered in period dress and in keeping with her important position!
Back row: Dennis Peterson, Council member, finely attired to represent Mayor Davis who had to be out of town. He looks a bit like Stan Laurel in that bowler!
Sandy Oppegard, Council member dressed as Calamity Jane. Doing her best to portray a "crazy person"....not difficult in the least.
Finally, County Commissioner, Will Purvis attired as the Deputy Sheriff (no stretch there!)
The Pony Express Rider is greeted in Vernon Center by Post Master Karen Lachmiller! Dennis Peterson presented him with a letter from Mayor Davis and received one from the Mayor of Blue Earth!
The Rider adds the Vernon Center Mail to the Mail Pouch
